CVC STORIES
Comprehension, or extracting meaning from what you read, is the ultimate goal of reading. Experienced readers take this for granted and may not appreciate the reading comprehension skills required. The process of comprehension is both interactive and strategic.
The CVC approach in reading refers to teaching children to read by focusing on Consonant-Vowel-Consonant words. These are three-letter words like "cat", "dog", or "sun" that follow a simple pattern of a consonant, followed by a vowel, and then another consonant.
This approach helps children develop phonemic awareness, decoding skills, and vocabulary.
This file contains six short stories with comprehension check suitable for middle school children.
