91 y/o Lolo Pedring Graduates Senior HS

In the province of La Union, a 91-year-old senior citizen just received her senior high school diploma, demonstrating that age is in no way a barrier to success and the realization of one's goals.

Federico Bentayen, Sr., popularly known as "Lolo Pedring," of Balbalayang in the San Gabriel municipality of La Union, inspired a lot of people with his narrative of tenacity and endurance to finish his schooling despite overcoming numerous obstacles in his life, including old age.

After putting his education on wait for several decades to concentrate on caring for his family and putting his six children through school, Lolo Pedring graduated from Balbalayang National High School, fulfilling one of his lifetime aspirations.

According to a resolution honoring Lolo Pedring's outstanding achievement, he was only in his third year of schooling at Kalinga Academy in 1951 when he had to stop going to school in order to earn a job and support his family. Lolo Pedring is now a cherished grandfather and community leader.

Lolo Pedring did not allow his age stop him from going to school. He earned his junior high school diploma at Balbalayang National High School when he was 89 years old.

Lolo Pedring was able to accomplish yet another milestone this year and will be honored as the exemplary student of the year at the public high school graduation in San Gabriel, La Union, in June 2022.
