DOUBLE PAY FOR EMPLOYEES ON HOLIDAY WORK



 Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that employers must pay workers double for working on regular holidays this April.( Holidays are: Araw ng Kagitingan-9; Maundy Thursday-14; and Good Friday-15)

“They should be paid an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate for working overtime. Moreover, employees working on a regular holiday and days off should receive another 30 percent of their hourly rate of 200 percent and an additional 30 percent if they work overtime,” said DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

As indicated in Labor Advisory No. 8, workers who report to work on regular holidays are eligible to receive double their day salary.
