PBBM announces June 6 as a regular holiday in celebration of Eid al-Adha.
In honor of Eid’l Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed Proclamation No. 911, making Friday, June 6, 2025, a regular national holiday.
According to the Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar of 1446, the Commission on Muslim Filipinos has suggested that Eid'l Adha be celebrated on June 6.
The second-most significant day in the Islamic calendar is Eid'l Adha. Muslim families get together to celebrate the dedication of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhis Salam) to Allah by giving him presents and hosting a feast.
The 10th day of Zhul Hijja, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, was designated as a national holiday for the observation of Eid'l Adha with a movable date by Republic Act No. 9849.
President Marcos signed the Proclamation on May 21.
