DepEd Announces the Amendments to School Calendar 2020-2021

 Here is the most awaited announcement from DepEd about the new schedule of school calendar for the succeeding quarters of the school year. Read the details and official announcement below:

The Department of Education issues DepEd Order No. 012, s. 2021 entitled “Amendment to DepEd Order No. 030, s. 2020 (Amendment to DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2020, School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2020-2021)” to allow schools to implement intensive intervention and remediation activities for learners and to give time to teachers for the different learning delivery modalities.

With this, teachers, parents, and learners are advised to take note of the following amendments to the school calendar:

Intervention and remediation activities for learners

March 1-12, 2021

In-Service Training (INSET) for teachers and school break for learners

March 15-19, 2021

Quarter 3

March 22 to May 15, 2021

Quarter 4

May 17 to July 10, 2021 

This policy shall be implemented in ALL PUBLIC elementary and secondary schools nationwide for SY 2020-2021.

Private schools, technical and vocational institutions, and higher education institutions, including state and local universities and colleges offering the K to 12 Basic Education Program are ENCOURAGED to implement these guidelines according to their philosophy, vision, and mission.

Additional two week period shall be compensated by a similar adjustment in the school break between SY 2020-21 and 2021-22.
