MARCOS OKS TEACHERS' SALARY INCREASE

 

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his SONA 2024, announced another salary increase for government workers. 

In his State of the Nation Address for 2024, Marcos said government employees will also receive a medical allowance.

"Para naman sa ating mga kawani sa gobyerno, meron silang maaasahang medical allowance bilang karagdagang benepisyo sa susunod na taon," he said.

"At hindi lamang yon, meron ding napipintong umento sa suweldo na makukuha nila sa apat na tranche," he explained.

Marcos said that starting this year money has been allocated for this purpose.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman earlier expressed optimism that Marcos Jr. will announce a pay rise for government workers.

Pangandaman said earlier this month that he hopes Congress will approve P70 billion in government worker pay raises in the 2025 state budget.

Last year, state workers received the fourth and final installment of the Wage Standards Act of 2019.
